YAmazing Race with MGnificent Prizes

The YAmazing Race is now officially over, as is the Nerdy Chicks Rule Contest.  Winners will be notified soon! All entries recieved after 12:00 pm today, October 29 will not count. Thank you for stopping by!

Nerdy Chicks Rule is participating in the YAmazing Race with MGnificent prizes. That means this post will be up for a week, while race contestants run through the blogs of over 50 participating debut authors for chances to win awesome prizes. Haven’t heard about it? Click the HERE to visit the Apocalypsies blog for complete details. Whether you are participating in the YAmazing Race or not, check out the additional contest we are running here at Nerdy Chicks Rule. Details follow the information about THE BOY PROJECT below.

So for race contestants, here’s what you’ll need to answer that race question:

Wildly creative seventh grader Kara McAllister just had her best idea yet. She’s going to take notes on all of the boys in her grade (and a few elsewhere) in order to answer a seemingly simple question: How can she get a boyfriend?

But Kara’s project turns out to be a lot more complicated than she imagined. Soon there are secrets, lies, and an embarrassing incident in the boy’s bathroom. Plus, Kara has to deal with mean girls, her slightly spacey BFF, and some surprising uses for duct tape. Still, if Kara’s research leads her to the right boy, everything may just be worth it. . . .

Full of charts and graphs, heart and humor, this hilarious debut will resonate with tweens everywhere.

  4. Umm, last time I used duck tape was a couple moves ago when the back of my bookcase did not survive the move and I needed to reattach it. =/ I knew there’d be another move or two in the future so there wasn’t really in point in replacing it at that time.

  5. My favorite use is to duct tape a person’s mouth shut. A LOUD person that goes by the name of MY BEST FRIEND. :p She knows I mean well.

My favorite use for duct tape is fixing anything to be a MacGuyver Mom. This weekend my kids and friend we shared a hotel room with jumped so hard on the bunk beds they broke it. With my trusty PURPLE roll of duct tape in my trunk, I jimmy rigged and secured the bed (better than its weak particle board could manage). Or when a car almost rammed me off the road, but into a large plastic garbage can and almost took out my side mirror, my purple duct tape afforded me the chance to get to our destination with out fearing we would lose it on the road. Ar when a woman couldn’t get into her car with a coat hanger, for fear it would scratch up the lock mechanism, i used my duct tape to seal up the hanger and voila – we got in, no scratches.

  13. Veronika says:

My mom hates flying. She and my dad were sitting in a plane, waiting to take off, and it was taking FOREVER. She was getting really nervous… and didn’t feel any better when a guy went SPRINTING from the front of the plane to the back, duct tape in hand. They took off soon after. Eek!

I have two wallets that friends made for me in high school out of duct tape. I also just watched a tutorial on how to make Harley Quin’s boots out of duct tape which I may use next year for a Harley Quinn Halloween costume. 39. Annabelle H says:

I don’t use it that often but I used to use it to stick my very large photgrams together to make a big picture!
